Golf: Frequently Asked Questions

A: Shannopin offer a 18 hole regulation golf course, full driving range, short game facility with practice bunkers, and a putting green.

A: Like many courses in Western Pennsylvania, Shannopin consists of winding fairways and hilly terrain. What makes us unique is our beautiful view of rolling hills and the Pittsburgh city skyline. Our course is very well-maintained and is fair for players of all ability, with course yardages ranging from 5763 to 6404 yards.

A: Yes, members may make tee times up to 7 days in advance.

A: Yes, Shannopin is open to members only and their guests.

A: Yes, you must have the Golf Professional at your club contact a member of the Shannopin golf staff to set up a tee time on your behalf.

A: No jeans or cargo pants/cargo shorts. Also, you must wear a collared shirt or an approved mock shirt, and metal spikes are NOT permitted.

A: You may walk at any time with the following restrictions: April 1st-October 31st before 5:00pm you will pay a trail fee of $5 per nine holes played. After 5:00pm or between November 1st and March 31st you can walk with no trail fee charged.

A: Yes lessons are available to members based on availability and by appointment only. Rates vary.

A: Yes, Shannopin has a Junior Golf Program which includes a Junior Inter-Club team for junior members, a Junior Golf League for junior members and three Junior Golf Camps. Non member juniors are allowed to participate in the Junior Golf Camps on a space availability.

A: No, an individual for an organization or charity can book a golf outing directly by contacting the Golf Professional.
